Critical Peak Pricing Program

Commercial customers can save up to five to ten percent on their annual Xcel Energy
electric bill by helping us manage peak energy demand. Program participants are notified
during peak periods to reduce their electricity use.

Program Description

During periods of peak energy demand, such as hot summer days, the electric system may
require more power than is typically available. The Critical Peak Pricing (CPP) program
provides participants a price signal to encourage them to reduce their electricity during
these periods. Participants can save between five to ten percent on their annual
Xcel Energy electric bill depending on how much load they are able to reduce.

Eligibility

Colorado customers under rate schedules SG, PG or TG, who have an existing interval
meter, are eligible to participate in this program.

Those not eligible for the CPP program are customers who:

Receive electric service under the standby service rate, Schedules SST, PST or TST
Are currently under an existing interruptible contract (ISOC)
Obtain service under a Peak Partner Rewards (PPR) rate schedule
Are currently a Photovoltaic customer with net-metering

Program Details

Under the CPP rate, participating customers receive a discounted demand charge but are
subject to higher energy charges during CPP events. CPP events can:

Occur up to 15 times a year
Be up to four hours in duration
Be called between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. on non-holiday weekdays
Not be called more than once per day

Participating customers will receive day-ahead notification when critical peak days are
called. Notifications will include the event start time, duration of event and event end
time. Notifications will be delivered a minimum of 22 hours prior to a critical peak event,
between normal business hours.

A minimum period of one year participation is required. A program participant may elect
to leave the program after 12 months and revert to their original rate plan.
